FX tiers
Effect layers are grouped into four tiers. Tiers stack: each pack includes every layer from the tiers below it, so the Pro pack contains Basic + Advanced + Pro.
| Pack | Tier | New layers | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| FX Pack Basic | Starter | 21 | The free foundation — pulse, degauss, VHS, glitch, glow, HDR, hit streak, and more. Free forever. |
| FX Pack Advanced | Plus | 27 | Warp and grade tools — kaleidoscope, ripple, dither, chromatic aberration, wet lens, mirror stripes. |
| FX Pack Pro | Pro | 33 | Stage-grade creative FX — oscilloscope, liquix, point cloud, cue layer, jump cut, pixel sort, cymatic warps. |
| FX Pack Labs | Labs | 3 | Experimental shaders — custom GLSL, reaction diffusion, trigger debug. Where new FX land first. |
Every layer's tier is shown on its card in the FX layers reference, and the marketplace pack pages list exactly which layers each tier introduces.
How a layer gets its tier
- Starter layers are the core live vocabulary — flash, zoom, mirror, vignette, and the everyday glitch/grade family. They ship free so a first session already feels like the real tool.
- Plus layers add hypnotic warp and texture work: kaleidoscope-family effects, procedural patterns, and the finer grade controls.
- Pro layers are the heavy or performance-critical ones — GPU-intensive composites (point cloud, metal sphere), multi-source video effects (layer blend, video map, mask video), and the transport montage family (jump cut, clip peek, zap, cue layer).
- Labs is the experimental shelf. Layers may move out of Labs into a stable tier as they mature.
Core controls are never gated
The always-on chain — Video Speed, Auto-Mix, Transition, Color Adjust — is part of the player itself, not a pack. Every tier, including free accounts, gets the full audio-reactive control model described in Audio bands & triggers.
